Solution for the RD closure error- " cash transaction limit exceeded" in DOP Finacle


  • Generally in DOP we use the menu CRDCAAC for closure of RD accounts in DOP Finacle application.
  • For all the viewers if the RD account is having loan then their will be 2 cases i.e., 
Case 1 :- If the RD account is having loan but came for premature closure then we can close the RD account directly using the menu CRDCAAC then system auto adjust the loan amount, refund of loan interest, refund of default fee and finally system will show the net amount to be paid to the customer.

Note:- Never try close the loan account in case of premature RD accounts having loan in DOP Finacle application. If done then system will not refund the loan interest to that corresponding RD account hence  directly go for closure of RD account in cases of premature closures.

Case 2 :- If the RD account having loan came for closure and it is matured account then we have to close the loan account and then close the RD account using CRDCAAC.

  • In some cases when we try to close the RD account then the system will show the error -"cash transaction limit exceeded" in DOP Finacle.
  • The error screen shot will be as shown in the below figure



Root cause for the above problem :- 

  • The above problem will arrive when the net payment to the customer is above 20000/- amount an when the user selected the mode of payment as Cash.
  • As per the Directorate's order cash payment is allowed only upto 20000/- amount in DOP hence the system shown the above error which is apt.

Solution for the above problem :- 

  • As per our Directorate's rulings we have to pay the amount greater than 20000/- either by cheque or transfer to respective SB account of the customer.
  • Hence for any payment 20000/- and above use the transaction type as transfer and then transfer to postmaster account ( solid+0340) in case of cheque payment or transfer to respective SB account of the customer depending on the customer willingness.
