Solution for Dormant SB Account closure issues in DOP Finacle


  • Generally if there are no credits in SB account for years then the SB account will be marked as Dormant which is also known as Silent account.
  • Silent account is nothing but inactive account the status of the account can be viewed in the menu HACCDET or CASBAM menus in DOP Finacle.
  • When we try to close the SB account which is Dormant then the system will throw the error - "DR.TRAN TO DORMANT " with error code as HP2 as shown in the below figure.

  • From the above screen shot it is clear that we are trying to close the Dormant account in the counter PA it will accept but when we try to verify the same closure during verification then the above error will be thrown by the system.

Root Cause of the above problem :- 


  • The above problem mainly arises due to account is dormant status which can be inquired using HACCDET and CASBAM.
  • All the Dormant accounts will be marked as silent and in DOP transactions are not allowed on Dormant accounts even closure hence the system will show the above error.

Solution for the above Problem :- 


The closure process has to be cancelled and the account status to be modified to Live before closing it.

·         Cancel the closure operation in HCAAC menu. While cancelling an user info will be shown that the transaction has to be manually reversed.   After the cancel operation in HCAAC, the transaction has to be deleted in HTM.
·         If the account has to be closed , then  after cancelling the transaction in HTM menu by selecting Modify function.
·         Modify the account status of the SB account in CASBAM menu from Silent to Live and verify it
·          Close the account now in HCAAC and verify it.
