Clarification - II on S B Order No. 02/2015 : Eligibility age for opening of Sukanya Samridhi Account in DOP


  • As per the SB order 02/2015 Sukanya Samridhi Account (SSA) can be opened for a girl child whose age i below 10 years of age.
  • But as per the SB order 02/2015 Government gave 1 year relaxation i..e., girl child born on or after 03.12.2003.
  • For example if the girl child born on 03.12.2003 then for this child the account can be opened only upto 01.12.2015 as per the Clarification-II on SB order 02/2015 by Ministry of Communications & IT.
  • Make sure there is no validation in the software for the above point i..e., the counter PA should check before opening an account.
